Then, introducing the Chinese and Western understanding of the Grotesque, inthis part, Western Grotesque theory is more mature, so discusses is mainly in the Western;At last, defining Grotesque’s connotation, description Grotesque’s basic content andperformance practices, and to distinguish the different in Grotesque, ridiculous andabsurd.The second chapter elaborates the Grotesque’s performance characteristics incontemporary art. In modern arts, the Grotesque has some performance characteristicssuch as extreme anomalies, extreme ultra-realistic, extreme strange, extreme horror, astrong visual impact and so on.
