"Ge-stell" is an important concept in the later thinking of Heidegger questioning technology and is the clue to truly understand Heidegger’s reflection on technology which is based on his thinking of "Being", phenomenology which he considers primarily as an ontological method and his point of view concerning modern science. The inclination to the thinking of Being which penetrates Heidegger’s thought all along relates closely to his phenomenology served as the method of his ontology. In the early thought of Heidegger, the manifestation of technology has a significant relation with the existence of man as Dasein. Besides, in the Heideggerian perspective, the fact that modern science sees the world as "image" is the symbol of the essence of modern age and has its own metaphysical reason which lays its foundation on the modern point of view concerning being and the truth of Being. The elements which compose the essence of technology has played a dominant role in the development of science.Heidegger sees "Ge-stell" as the accomplishment of metaphysics. In his point of view,"Ge-stell" has revealed the oblivion of Being and the original time under the background of modern technological age. This has more to do with his seeing the history of philosophy as the interpretation of Being and his exploration into the thought of ancient Greece and orginal technology. This paper tries to aim at Heidegger’s point of view of modern science as a entry point and then proceeds to his thinking of "Ge-stell" through the inquiries concerning the relationship between Being and technology and the method of phenomenology. Based on these, this paper explore tbe meaning of concept "Ge-stell" and leads to Heidegger’s thinking on the relationship between technology and human living in the modern technological age.
