Abstract/Summary:
The concepts of time and time illusion were expounded from different perspectives. Thepurpose of the research was to look for the methodology of time illusion applied in theinteraction design. the research background showed that time had become an importantpsychological and emotional impact factor in modern society, and time psychology, as ageneral psychology, just stayed on the level of pure scientific theory, no linking with design.The theory section of the article firstly discussed the value of time illusion in the interactiondesign, which was a further extension of emotional design and humanized design combinationwith interactive design. Then it was found that the time illusion of existing products broughtusers the negative impacts, which meant that time feeling of the interaction design could beenhanced. Through the collection and analysis of case studies, the main time perception werefound-people could estimate the time; because the estimated time was too long or too shortresulting in time-use efficiency unreasonable; waiting brought the anxiety in the heart ofpeople, time flies brought happiness or tension; time illusion could cause the instinctpsychological changes and emotional changes caused by the subjective attributes of the time.By the core theoretical analysis of these cases, the processing mechanisms, objective andsubjective factors of time perception were integratedly discussed. The experimental part of thearticle used the assumptions of the above research and inferences, through the experiments toexplore the product improvement and innovative design method. Ultimately the purpose ofsolving practical problems by the time illusion in the interaction design, add fun to life andimprove the use ratio of time were achieved.The core content of the research was the theoretical research of time illusion combinedwith the interaction design practice. The psychological theory to support the time illusion-theestimated mechanism of time(processing-time model and range-synthetic models) andinterval estimation strategy were researched and analysized; the impact factors of timeperception were collected, such as sound, size, numbers, stimulation frequency and so on.Finally, by filtering a lot of typical time-illusion cases, the author finally established severalpotential design carriers and designed the experimental programs to validate the theory andexplore the methodology.
