It’s clear that “long tune/Urtin Duu” is a typical kind of song at zhalaiTeqi in xingan League in Inner Mongolia. The Urtin Duu plays an importantrole in Mongolian culture.Three generation of Changma family’s people are all singers of UrtinDuu. The paper studies these people’s singing style based on national musicalthe theory and geographical characteristic in Zhalai Teqi and transition historyof Urtin Duu in modern times.According to national musical theory, the objection of study depends onsocial, economic and cultural circumstance. That is, Changma’s threegeneration’s Urtin Duu should be put into certain social background. Thus onecan draw a clear conclution about Urtin Duu of Zhalai Teqi during the halfcentury of foundation of municipality, so that we can see ‘music’ from‘culture’ and ‘culture’ from ‘music’.There is no denying the fact that with the development of science andtechnology, Urtin Duu has encountered many difficulties and challenges. Sounder these circumstances, everyone must strive for facilitate the traditionalmusical theory and improve the protection method.The paper has three parts: introduction, main body, and conclusion. Itconsists of five sections. The first section introduces the history of Zhalai Teqiand Urtin Duu’s main embranchments and its distribution area. The second section describes the song’s style so that the song could attract more people’sattention. The third section use relevant theory to study Urtin Duu’sconformation or modal, because it can express cultural and historical value ofUrtin Duu. The fourth section is how the Urtin Duu deals with the currentproblem and difficulties.
