Throughout the music features in the Mongolian cogur musicphenomenon, both singing and music are reflecting the Mongols’understanding of sound and their unique pursuit of music aesthetics.Those special sounds produced by different vocal techniques and playingmethods accordingly express different emotions and also convey differentmessages. Taking Mongolian nomadic culture as the background andusing cogur music system (a unique classification of Mongolian music),the author explores the Mogols’ aesthtics on cogur music, so as to revealthe unique Mongolian music aesthetic view. The cogur musicphenomenon is not only the Mongolian musical representation of artisticfeatures and musical tradition, but also the music phenomenon ofmultiple voices and overtone which are discovered by Mongolianancestors from their cognition of natural sound’s original form. What’smore, it even embodies the Mongolian music aesthetic view andknowledge.Due to the effect of living condition and national culture, people indifferent regions and nations, own quite different understanding andpursuit of the beauty of music. The development of Mongolianpolyphony is thus established on the cogur music system based on thephenomenon of cogur music. And this phenomenon exists widely in theMongolian traditional music and influences its musical style. Therefore,the analysis and study of the relationship between Mongolian cogurmusic phenomenon and their national music aesthetics has realisticmeaning and theoretical value. Moreover, on the condition that cogurmusic aesthetic research lags behind relatively, the author hopes the research can make some contribution to the discipline construction ofMongolian music aesthetics.The author tries to make the "cogur" music phenomenon whichexists in Mongolian traditional music, Mogols’ aesthetic view and theirmusic aesthetic view in contact. Through the interpretation of the musicform of the cogur music phenomenon in different historical period and itsplot with Mongolian nomadic culture, the author deeply analysis that onthe Mongolian nomadic culture, the ideological system, such as naturalview, world view, outlook of music, aesthetics, outlook of life and so on,all have a great impact on the cogur music. The cogur music phenomenoninvolves four major fields in nation’s traditional music, blowing, pulling,playing and singing. Thus, it even influences the music style ofMongolian traditional folk long song which features most of nomadicmusic."Cogur", a polyphonic music form, usually bonds its nation’smusical style as an invisible power; always reflects the national musicaesthetic ideal and pursuit;frequently transmits the national faith andphilosophy, and stands for national music soul and backbone forever.
