The paper discusses systematically the origination, traditional modes, features value, transition as well as inheritance protection status Of the Hakka kylin dance, with the local folk dance kylin dance in Qingxi town of Dongguan city as the research object and based on various material gained through field trips and consulting sources on it. It also analyses reasons for the relatively well-inheritance of kylin dance in Qingxi town and summarizes the effective ways to protect the folk culture with the purpose of exploring feasible approaches for non-material cultural heritage protection and further providing referable models to the activities of developing and promoting regional folk culture.
