As an important member of the Northeastern Writers Group,Xiao Hong was one of thefinest writers who had a talent for writing, she made a vivid reappearance of nature, customs, and farmer’s life of Northeast China in a immature and spiritual way. Her acute observationsof nature and her concern for precise details made her works full of the beauty of primalsavagery. Unlike nature in males’and adults’eyes was always treated as redevelopmentobjects, it was a unique existence full of vitality in Xiao Hong’s works. Besides, it wasequally important as human beings was and they keep a coexistence and intergrowthrelationship in the whole ecosystem. My article aims at reconsideration of Xiao Hong’s works from the view of eco—literature, comparing and analysising the difference in nature writing between the workswritten by Xiao Hong and writers from the same period. At the same time, it combines itsspecial time background and classifies the nature writng of Xiao Hong’s works into differentstages roughly. Besides, it further analyses the futuristic consciousness of ecology in XiaoHong’s nature writng. My article focuses on the analysis of the complicated relationshipbetween nature and human beings in Xiao Hong’s works. The rough, bold characteristics ofpeople in Northeastern China are gestated by the rolling mountains and plains, espically thetough natural environment of Northeastern China. While the tough natural environmentmakes life of Northeastern people more difficult: people maintain life by expending greaterlabour, and the tremendous burden of life makes the people of Northeastern China lack ofhuman virtues. Their healthy life has been progressively weakened and pressed together bythe culture which formed in Northeastern people’s absolute compliance to nature, and itinturn leads to the unbalance of human virtues: people consider nature as something superiorto themselves. In the process of vivid reappearance the complicated relationship betweenhuman and nature, Xiao Hong found humankind’s natural state which had been disregardedby most people, and this is what deep ecological study aimed at. Namely Xiao Hong foundthe nature of human ecology which was within the research of eco—literature.
