As a special cultural form, wine culture is an important part of traditional Chinese culture. It is physical as well as immaterial. Wine culture stretches into the development of Chinese civilization from past to future and reflects the value theories and mental characteristics of different time people.This essay applies the research method of applied linguistics and starts from three aspects:source of wine idioms, the classify of liquor idioms and the culture study of wine idioms. According to the basic classify of idiom, locution, allegorical sayings, proverb, motto and other idioms, I will sort out the idioms of liquor, summarize its origin, type and cultural relevance also I will study how the idioms of liquor can fully reflect this specific culture and find out the unique content and characters of liquor idioms given by the wine culture.What is more, from the feature of word formation of liquor idiom and considering Chinese wine culture I will study how it influences the development of liquor idiom. Consequently, researching the characteristic of mutually infiltrations and motivation between language and culture.
