The Research About Setting The Agenda Of The Documentary And Its Effect

The theoretical assumptions about setting the agenda was set in1972by the United States house of communication interview McCombs and Shaw. Today, it has been recognized and applied widely in the media field. And the documentary and the media are part of the same scope within the communication. But people do not attach importance to it. In this article I will focus on setting the agenda of the documentary and I will studied and discussed it.Fully understand and master the embodiment and effect of setting agenda of documentary. And it will take better guidance function and meaning for the development of the creation and production of documentary.This article will use text analysis respectively and questionnaire survey method of study. Analysis and verification of the setting agenda of documentary and the effects. First, I will choose a representative of the documentary, use the way of content analysis study and interpretation in detail. And then I will use the method of questionnaire survey. Through the quantification of data processing, analysis, compare the audience agenda and director agenda.In the first part of this article I will introduces the origin and development process of setting the agenda and the current researches about it. And this part is the theoretical basis and matting for the researches which in the article.The second part is the key part of this dissertation, I will research about setting the agenda of the documentary in detail. First, I will study the two aspects they are embodiment and the implicit which are belong to setting the agenda of the documentary. And then, I will choose a documentary named Fahrenheit9/11and use the method of text analysis to research the setting agenda of documentary.The third part of this article is the difficult part, I will use the method of questionnaire survey to research the data analysis of the audience’s ideas and feelings, and inspection of the effects in the setting agenda of the documentary.In the fourth part I will find the factors which effected the result and I will find the error of setting the agenda of documentary. It could take batter effect and tip when we study and create the setting agenda of documentary in the future.
