This thesis focuses on how people infer the justness of events they encounter. Specifically the evidence of implicit, spontaneous part of justice information processing. Preliminary evidence were found in western cultures. Based on the earlier research,3experiments were conducted.By recruiting undergraduate students as participants, study1investigate the evidence of spontaneous justice inference in Chinese culture. The result find preliminary evidence of spontaneous justice inference. The study shows stronger spontaneous inference for distributive justice descriptions, compare with procedural justice. While there is no difference in strength between justice and injustice descriptions. There is no evidence that justice sensitivity correlate with spontaneous justice inference.Study2further investigate whether spontaneous justice inference also occur when the sentence implying justice refer to someone else. The result fail to find the the probe recognition effect indicates that no spontaneously justice inferences are drawn in the low personal relevance condition.Study3investigates whether spontaneous justice inference for low personal relevance descriptions can be elicited soon after watching a justice implying video clip. The result also fails to find evidence of spontaneous justice inference for low personal relevance descriptions even after watching justice implying clip.
