Analysis On The Symphonic Suite Ode To Zhong-shan

Shi Wan-chun is a famous composer and educator in China, on the role of professor and doctoral supervisor of The China conservatory. Shi Wan-chun has obtained remarkable achievements in teaching field and music creation. His music influences generations. Shi Wan-chun composed and completed a Symphonic Suite named Ode to Zhong-shan in the beginning of2011, the main music material of which was derived from the cinemusic of film Sun Zhong-shan. The works eulogizes Sun’s revolutionary life full of greatnesses and glories.The article makes an overall analysis on the Symphonic Suite Ode to Zhong-shan in three parts. Chapter1briefly introduces Shi Wan-chun and Ode to Zhongshan, enabling the readers to gain a general knowledge of the composer and the works; Chapter2extends a comprehensive analysis on the works, in the professional composal aspects of mode, harmony, orchestration, melody and polyphony; Chapter3researches in Shi Wan-chun’s rational application of composing skills in creation.
