Nowadays, Cooperative Learning is a very common educational method, especially, inthe United States. So far, it has been a theoretical system and at the same time, it hasalso been a strategic system. And it has been applied by a lot of countries around theworld.According to the literature review of Cooperative Learning, we can know that its mainaim is to improve Chinese students’ communicative competence. The author is tryingher best to apply Cooperative Learning in the teaching of college English listening&speaking in order to remove the uninteresting class atmosphere and at the same timeencourage most of students’ involvement in English class, which may be right someproblems being in the traditional English class.Based on Cooperative Learning theory, the author employs experiment to study theadvantages of Cooperative Learning in college English listening&speaking class. Theauthor uses several common methods, such as, the quantitative and qualitative analysis.The author collects students’ test scores in two classes and their results ofquestionnaires. After a couple of weeks, the findings indicate that Cooperative LearningTeaching method is very useful for improving the dull class atmosphere, and it is very helpful for developing students’ listening&speaking ability by communicating withother students in English class, and the enhancement of students’ involvement in class.This paper has manifested the effectiveness of Cooperative Learning in college Englishlistening&speaking teaching in classes of China.
