China is the country that has its own ritual music system. The change of the system was along with the historical development. In this paper, through combing the constitution of ritual music system during Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming Dynasty, we can understand the inheritance of the contents of the ritual music system during thousands of years, and find the changes in different levels of the ritual music system.In the Sui and Tang Dynasties,"yayue" is the music at the national level and it is the core of ritual music system, but not equals all the contents of ritual music system. Base on the understanding of the music was used in the ritual ceremony of music, the music used in the ranks of a guard of honour and the The Law of Tang Kaiyuan Ceremony, this paper tries to tell the changes of the ritual music system and the changes of ritual music thoughts. All the changes can be found in the ritual music system, the music management agency and the music carrying population. If we understand the contents of ritual music system and the specific implementation of ritual music system, we would understand the changes of ritual music thoughts.In this paper, the author tries to analysis the changes of the specific implementation of ritual music system from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming Dynasty, so the author can tell how the effects of the changes of the development of the society worked on the ritual music system.This paper has the thoughts that the Song Dynasty inherited the ritual music thoughts of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. But the ritual music system of Song Dynasty also has changed. A part of Tang Dynasty ritual music changed into the management of "Jiaofang" in Song Dynasty.Jin Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty were the countries built by the political power of national minority. So they were different from the countries built by the political power of the Han nationality. Sometimes the music of "Jiaofang" was used in the offering sacrifices to gods or ancestors, and sometimes the "yayue" was treated as the ritual music. The identity of music carrying population of Jin and Yuan Dynasties had changed into civilian status, which means different ritual music thoughts.The ritual music system of Ming Dynasty returned to the ritual music system of Tang and Song Dynasties. The music system of the ritual ceremony and the music system used in the ranks of a guard of honour in Ming Dynasty were established according to the thoughts of ritual music of Tang and Song Dynasties. But the music system of the ritual ceremony in Ming Dynasty also has something in common with the music system of ritual music in Jin and Yuan Dynasties. The "yayue" was treated as the part of the music system of the ritual ceremony in Ming Dynasty. The music carrying population was called "yuewusheng". And part of the music for sacrifice had became part of "Jiaofang"’s musical management. In Ming Dynasty,"Jiaofang"was the part of music system management mechanism.
