Gongwang’s Four Sayings And His Painting Practice

The Yuan dynasty promotes the situation of landscape painting, Huang gongwang, one of the four famous painters in Yuan dynasty, is the top representative in the Chinese painting history. He also has a significant impact on the Ming and Qing dynasty. This essay combines gongwang four sayings’ of Xie Shan Shui Jue and creation of painting.I wish I can provide a theoretical foundation to the Chinese painting research in the future by studying Huang’s ’gongwang four sayings’. Moreover, it can help us to better understand Huang’ artistic achievement.
