Research On The Shift Of "Heavy" Component In Modern Chinese

“Heavy” composition shift is a sort of language phenomenon that widelyexists in many languages. Linguist Bernard Cormrie and Norval Smith putforward this problem in their grammar questionnaire for native languageresearchers hoping to get more details about this phenomenon. This papertries to analysis of the existence of “Heavy” composition shift in modernChinese by citing a number of facts to illustrate its existence. At the beginning,we answer the “heavy” ingredients “shift” is a shift, rather than“Set” in encoding process. At the same time, we also pay attention to themodern Chinese having a lot of sentences that may be influenced byEuropean language, especially by English, on words order; we put them in themodern Chinese. Through the list of classification, the “heavy” component ofthe shift is divided into three parts which are topicalization meaning forward,attribute postposition after the shift,“Ba”′s forward. We also compare thedifferences of “light” and “heavy” components′shift and containing relation.Then, combined with the relevant contents of psychology memory by referenceto Mr. Lu Bingfu, try to solve the rationality of “shift” in this way and by dealingwith it to alleviate intension of the work on a person’s memory. In addition, thefocus and the shift are closely related to each other. From the angle of “focus”,we try to rationalize “shift” through another perspective. Nevertheless，wefound a lot of exceptions that “should-be-shifted” parts as more reasonablecomponent are preserved in their original positions in modern Chinese. So weconclude several conditions limiting the shift, which include Textual semanticrestrictions、 The stress limits and habitual usage restrictions.Language is produced in the process of human communication, andpeople are different from machines that have a strict code executionmechanism. So the language has direction trend to be as concise as possible,and as perceptible as it looks like. Content conveyed through language is limited to people understanding and expression ability and other factors as well.Meanwhile, for the understanding of rational human discourse mechanism ismore dependent on further development of natural science.
