The verb-complement and parataxis compound is a kind of compound structure, whichis very special and important in Chinese. Such kind of structure is also a typicalexemplification of Chinese characteristics as “deduce simplicity into complexity”. From theform, the verb-complement compound must be a dissyllable structure of “verb pluscomplement (verb/adjective)”. From the sense, the verb-complement can express thesemantic relation of “verb plus result/tendency/state/estimate”, and the “verb” is animmediate cause that results in the semantic relation of “result/tendency/state/estimate”. Thisthesis carries out the method that combines with the quantitative and qualitative, contrast andanalysis, in the meanwhile, takes the model of data statistics and analysis, studying theverb-complement compound from the sense, function, characteristics and types in anenclosing class teaching materials. It analyzes the meaning and function of the complementcomponents in the verb-complement compound, and reduces the complement components tofour types: the complement components of result meaning, the complement components oftendency meaning, the complement components of commentary meaning, and thecomplement components of meaningless. The verb-complement compound has thecharacteristics of uniqueness and cultural thought patterns. Beyond that, analyzing thecharacteristics and distribution of different types about the verb-complement compound inteaching materials, we can master the emphasis and difficulty in teaching process, and thenobtain the teaching strategies and methods about the verb-complement compound. In addition,we compile the auxiliary learning vocabulary for helping learners of Chinese to master theverb-complement compound faster and better. |
