Acculturation problem thereforebecomes the important problem facing Chinese. The author takes Chinese Americans(from1990to2000) as the research object and analyzes the problem from two aspectsof acculturation. The author uses identity and life style to analyze today’s ChineseAmericans’ new problems: polarization of cultural assimilation. And the main factorcausing this problem is the difference of cultural value: collectivism andindividualism.This research has important practical significance. It not only emphasizes thenew problems facing the Chinese in America today through the analysis of the causesand effects.
