Study About Teng Gu And His Art Archaeology

Teng Gu, a well-known scholar in the Republic of China, has been forgotten by Chinese for a long time for some reason. However, we should not neglect that he is regarded as the first professional scholar who applied maturely Germany art philosophy to analyze the history of Chinese art and who was one of the founders of Chinese art history. Meanwhile, he was the first person who stood out in Chinese Art Archaeology, in terms of his relevant works. This thesis, based on the comprehensive understanding about art history and art archaeology, aims at looking in depth Teng Gu’s art history and art archaeology.
