Nian Nu Jiao is one of the most famous names of tunes in the Song Dynasty. It originated from a geisha, who lived in Tang Dynasty named Nian Nu. Nian Nu Jiao appeared in the Northern Song Dynasty, after the initial development, it reached its prosperity in the Southern Song Dynasty. Nian Nu Jiao also was spread in Jin, Yuan and Ming period, even until the Qing Dynasty. It has very important significance of poetries to study the development, rheology and acception of Nian Nu Jiao in the Song Dynasty.This paper elaborates the origin of Nian Nu Jiao, combs through its musical tonal expression meter, and a lot of other names. The main research methods in this article are mathematical statistics and the analysis of induction. Through the research of these poetries on themes, lyrics characteristics and the tracks of its acception etc, this paper wants to clearly show the development vein of this tune, and reveal its unique aesthetic implication.This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is to make a textual research on the tune of Nian Nu Jiao. According to the available literature and some musical knowledge, make efforts to find its roots, discuss the musical tonal expression, enumerate types of meter and comb through a lot of other names used in the Song Dynasty. The second chapter is Nian Nu Jiao’s evolution and influence of the celebrity. Su Shi had only two pieces of Nian Nu Jiao poetries, but they represented Su Shi ci’s style—" unconstrained " and " elegant ", which laid the tune’s main emotional tone and produced a profound influence. The last chapter is to discuss the development and reception of Nian Nu Jiao which is the focus of the full text. It mainly contains four parts. Such as florid style in the development of Nian Nu Jiao; Dong Po paradigm’s influence; Xin Qinji and Jiang Kui’s reforms on Nian Nu Jiao in the resurgent period of Southern Song Dynasty; All kinds of different themes of works appeared in later years of the Southern Song dynasty.
