Research Of Comprehensive Geography Compartment In Chongqing

Comprehensive geography compartment is a theory that based on nature zonality and regional differentiation regulation to discuss the emerge, development, difference groups, division combination and their relations of different scale area cell. It can be used to offer service to the sustainable development of the research areas. On the background of global change, with the huge change of geography environment elements, comprehensive geography compartment, as a kind of suitable region division method in the new conditions, has been a hot point in the study of geography compartment. However, Since Chongqing became a municipality directly under the Central Government inl5years ago, it had never been carried out geographical division work on new Chongqing city. So, it is necessary to carry out discussion on comprehensive geography compartment of Chongqing City, and provide scientific basis for the formulation of strategic planning for the sustainable development of social economy.The point of this research is to explore thought and theory on comprehensive geography compartment, establish the principles on it, and found index system of comprehensive geography compartment of Chongqing; Also, it adopt the methods on combination of qualitative and quantitative, use the related data, and divide of comprehensive geographical area and comprehensive geographical subregion.In this process, we should combine all the natural facts with human facts. In this paper, we ensure27typical indexes on the work of deeply analysis to the geography environment of research regions. Then we can do the cluster work using the method that combined top-down and bottom-up methods. After the analysis, Chongqing can be divided in two primary comprehensive geography areas:the mountainous area around basins (I) and the basin area (Ⅱ). the mountainous area around basins (Ⅰ) can be subdivide in2subregions:the northeast part of Chongqing-the area of forest, tourism, and ecology protection in Daba Mountain and Wu Mountain (Ⅰ1); the southeast part of Chongqing-the area of modern mountain ecology agriculture, special resources production and ecology tourism in Wuling Mountain (Ⅰ2).The basin area (Ⅱ) can be subdivide into4secondary subregions:the north part of parallel ridge-valley-the modern agriculture, competitive resources industries, and tourism region (Ⅱ1); the middle part of parallel ridge-valley-the urban area (Ⅱ2); the south part of parallel ridge-valley-the area of energy, coal chemistry, ecology tourism and modern agriculture(Ⅱ3); the northwest part of Chongqing-the machinery industries, modern agriculture, and food industry area.This paper discusses the natural geographical environment, resources development-industry distribution, agriculture and tourism development-layout, and regional environmental protection on comprehensive geographical subregion of Chongqing. It involve natural geography and economic geography of the basic situation.
