The facial attractiveness is becoming the focus of attention nowadays in both real world and academic circle. Any age has believed in beauty, a pretty face just like an excellent calling card that makes people impressive. The attractiveness of face not only brings us a beautiful enjoyment, but also affect other’s first impression of us in social life, and has been a feature of crucial importance for human interpersonal communication.Indeed a evolutionary psychology perspective on attractiveness suggests it has a judgment of facial attractiveness that comes from experience of generations. On this view, good genes theory suggests the preference of pretty face because of the biological evolution, the beautiful face is an important sign of healthy genes、better immune function and reproductive fitness. By contrast, people pay little attention on the faces without attractiveness because that ugly face means unhealthy and difficult of keeping the specie going forward. As the higher animal, people always have the reason of looking for no matter the evolutionary or just the beauty itself. But, without a beautiful face doesn’t mean there is no chance for being pretty, we could consider cosmetic surgery and by making up to make us look better, the most important, we could use the expression to help establish a good image in the minds of others. The researches on positive psychology tell us that we can share happy experience with others to enhance the favor and shorten the distance. The study on empathy also explain the emotional infection. Actually when we show smile to others, we also deliver others a positive signal that makes people have resonance with us and know our happy, be willing to come close nearer. From this point, the smile enhance our beauty. Is it real that happy makes us more beautiful? This research attempt to use high\low facial attractiveness stuff with emotional factor to find out how the smile has an impact on the preference of facial attractiveness working. Therefore, this research based on the past studies, is made up with a behavior investigation to explore the difference between four conditions firstly, and high-resolution event related potential(ERP) technology research which is an implicit task paradigm trying to find out whether the smile can effect the cognition of facial attractiveness and its neuromechanism along with it. This research follow the assumption that attractive faces can be processed automatically irrespective of the task performed by the subject. The adult male as the main study object, will preference the attractive faces because of biological evolution and attractive faces can be considered to be a type of reward to them, and take them more cognition resource[1].The first part is to filter and evaluate the faces material. To unify and Standardize the face pictures, include factors like facial attractiveness, emotional effect, the degree of happy...Make sure that the faces use in research are consistency on each dimension. The second part is sentiment judgment task. The main aim is to justify the sentiment of the showing faces, and type the two kinds of key to answer the emotion on the picture:smile or not? The pictures are divided into four categories in standardization:high attractive-neutral、high attractive-smile、low attractive-neutral、 low attractive-smile. There would be practices before formal task, make sure that the accuracy achieve100%.In task, there is no cue with facial attractiveness, such design can imitate facial attractiveness stimuli occur without expectation. Rely on the past studies, we just use the reaction time in behavior part to consider the deep processing on the preference faces:the more attractive the face is, the long react time will be spent in thinking about[48].The research has the behavior evidence that consist with the past studies in both behavior task and the behavior result of ERP data, people have longer reaction times in attractiveness faces. And the result showed that like the past researches, during the emotional judgment task, attractive and unattractive\smile and neural faces elicited significant differences in early and late ERP components in task, smile faces elicited more enhanced ERP effects than neutral faces on P2component, smile-low attractive faces elicited more enhanced ERP effects than neutral-low attractive faces on P3(350-450ms) time window, and at the time window of550-650ms, there is a face type main effect, attractive faces elicited more ERP than the unattractive ones. Smile do attract people’s attention like beauty, but as a mood, it elicited the enhanced ERP in early components like P2and P3,in the late ERP components, the beauty still had bigger effect than the unattractive faces. After the emotional judgment, there is a facial attractive judgment task by applying of7-point scale. The aim of the task is to find out whether the personal preference of facial attractiveness has exist. Comparing the results with the data of face material we have filter and evaluate by ANOVA, and we find out that the result of evaluation has consistency as anticipation:smile just effect our preference in automatic processing. The result showed there were no significant differences between the smile and the neural ones.Overall, there was female facial attractiveness bias in processing of irrespective of the task performed by the subject for males. The early and late ERP is engaged automatically by attractive faces, even when subjects are performing an unrelated face processing task that does not explicitly assess facial attractiveness. Attractive faces can be considered a rewarding stimulus, and as such engages more and large ERP activity than the unattractive faces. The presence of a smile may provide an important signal that a reward is or is not attainable, but the smile may not engage more than the attractiveness, so it can only be like a reward to enhance the processing of the low attractive faces.
