In modern Chinese,"Nl+的+N2" is usually generalized as the attribute-head structure, in which "N1" and "N2" are in possessive or modification relations. But there is a special sentence pattern“N1+的+N2+V+得+R”like“他的老师当得好”and“小明的棋下得好”in Chinese, in which "N1+的+N2" does not have a direct semantic relation and this kind of structure "N1+的+N2" is defined as the para-attribute structure by scholars. A systematic exploration of the para-attribute pattern“N1+的+N2+V+得+R”is carried out in the thesis, that is, syntactic and semantic features of each component and links between each component, and its constructional meaning as a whole are within discussion. The para-attribute pattern“N1+的+N2+V+得+R”,as a special language phenomenon, has attracted many scholars’attention. Most of them have explored it from the generative mechanism, either from the generative perspective, or from the cognitive perspective. However, little research has been done from the structural approach. Accordingly, this thesis, with construction grammar theory as the theoretical preliminaries, has a detailed structural analysis. Through exploration, the para-attribute structure“N1+的+N2+V+得+R”is a form-meaning correspondence, with a fixed form but an unpredictable meaning. Based on construction grammar approach,"N1","N2","V" and "R" are well expounded, including the part of speech, syntactic constituent, semantic constituent and semantic features of every component. Besides, its own constructional meaning is presented as well.In addition, similarities and distinctions between the para-attribute construction“N1+的+N2+V+得+R”and the resultative construction“N1+的+N2+V+得+R”,between the para-attribute construction "Nl+的+N2+V+得+R and the verb-copying construction“N1+V+N2+V+得+R”are mentioned as well, which further proves that the para-attribute construction is an independent sentence pattern.
