After China entered into WTO along with the constant growth of Chinese-foreign cooperation, the combination between accounting and English becomes a kind of inevitability. Meanwhile, frequent trade remedy investigations against Chinese products make China become the world’s largest victim of anti-dumping. Because responding to anti-dumping charges need the essential support of accountant evidence, a comparative lexical study on anti-dumping English and accounting English is made in this paper. This paper is a corpus-based study, which aims to find out the similarities and differences between anti-dumping English and accounting English by researching the lexical features of them. The author establishes two corpora based on the collection of anti-dumping case reports (2008-2012) from DOC and news (2012) from Journal of Accountancy. In addition, the author does a quantitative and qualitative analysis on such basic aspects as statistics data, word frequence, keywords, shared and unique words by using software such as AntConc, SPSS and FoxPro.The analyzing results show that lexicon of the two corpora are much the same with only minor differences in usage. On one hand, the similarities between both corpora are that considerable functional words exist in top50words and most of them are overlapping. Most positive keywords in these two corpora are open-class words. On the other hand, these two corpora embody their differences from several aspects. For instance, ACEC is more various and diverse than ADEC in the aspect of vocabulary size and lexical density; the proportion of open-class and closed-class words in the top50words of them are quite the opposite, etc. At last, it is indicated that this study can provide some help for lexicon study of anti-dumping English and accounting English. Besides, it is also helpful for enterprises to defend anti-dumping litigation and positively respond to anti-dumping charges, thereby concretely safeguard China’s economic interests.
