| This is a translation project report on Translation in Global News (chapter7),written by Susan Bassnett and Esperanca Bielsa. The seventh chapter of this bookmainly talks about sincerity and veracity in global news translation as the authorsthink “a fundamental premise in the transmission of news is that it should be truthful”.Besides the authors think translation should reproduce the original report even thoughequivalent translation is impossible. This book has much value in international globalnews translation, so by translating the seventh chapter of the book, I hope more andmore Chinese college students majoring in international news translation and peopleworking in other foreign language translation can know some new ideas of newstranslation.This report consists of four parts. Part one is an introduction which includes thebackground, the purpose and the significance of the translation project. Part twointroduces the authors, the main content and linguistic characteristics of the sourcetext. Part three illustrates methods and skills applied in this project with examples.Part four draws a conclusion about the experiences lessons on the authors’ part fromthe translation practice as well as some problems that remain unsolved. |
