Oscar image has a great attraction to and influence on the audiences all over the world, andother film arts, film awards and film festivals cannot be compared with the attraction as well asthe influence. Its root is that the Oscar image adheres to a unique movie art road. In the road ofcreation, it always takes the audience as the center, firmly grasps the audience’s aestheticmentality,aesthetic habits and desires, rather than bases on the artists’ aesthetic judgment andartistic taste of themselves, this unique aesthetic pursuit made the Oscar movie, still proudly beindependent among the films of the world, with its own unique artistic charm after80years ofwind and rain. And when it comes to this little people knows that, this article will researchperspectives on this academic blank field for the first time, take the unique movie to the Oscarimage aesthetics charm source for exploration, in order to be able to contribute to thedevelopment of film art and film industry in China.The core concept of this thesis is “free emotional aesthetics”, and observes the materials bysystematic perspective,and takes hundreds of Oscar’s nominations or the award–winning filmsin its eighty–five years’ history as research materials,and implies the integrated use of themethod of quantitative research and case study, combining with speculative research andliterature analysis,from the aspects of narrative, spectacle, star expound and prove the origin ofOscar image aesthetics’ unique charm. Four important aspects are obtained from this study:Firstly, the root of Oscar image sending out unique charm is that, it has always puts theaudience in the first place, and firmly grasps the audience’s aesthetic mentality,aesthetic habitsand desires. And for taking the audience as the center, we need to respect the audience’saesthetic psychology and aesthetic rule. For the audience, what kind of art and technology meansit used is doesn’t matter, what they want is just a wonderful story, a wonderful audio-visualenjoyment, a brilliant performance and a memorable emotional experience. So this thesis willresearch the foothold in narrative, spectacle and star perspectives,which are most attractive ofOscar image. So this can directly, effectively and quickly touch the root of Oscar image aestheticcharm, and it will help us to understand the unique film aesthetic characteristics of Oscar. Thispart also carries out the simple introduction of" free emotional" theory, and points out that the audience in the process of aesthetic freedom pleasant emotional experience is the essence of thefilm art being able to attract the audience.Secondly, narration is the core of the Oscar image aesthetics, and is also the most importantelements of Oscar image to attract the audience. The core of all art text narration is the maximumof appeal for the audience, and to stimulate the audience’s emotional freedom. the Oscar filmsbring audiences into the film’s artistic context mainly through elaborate design of the play time,achieve the perfect control of the audiences’ attention through the choice of narrativeperspective,and attract audiences’ attention as well as arouse the audiences’ free emotionthrough careful design and arrangement of the plot structure and narrative impetusmechanism.Oscar image organizes the narrative plot following certain rational logic structure,and absorbs the fresh narrative techniques and strategies of European and other vanguardexperimental film movement in the same way. The root of Oscar image narrative aesthetic is tosatisfy the audience’s natural desire maximally.Thirdly, the real shock image wonders is the most important factor in Oscar image to attractaudience. The image wonders of Oscar film have thefollowing features: Oscar films make audiences can’t help entering the film’s artistic context andbeing immersed in the shocked and exciting screen image through lifelike artistic scene,truthfulcharacters and actions, vivid acoustics,and exciting audio–visual effects.In the use of cinematicand film techniques,spectacles of Oscar films never show off its techniques, but always set theshape of the image reality and improvement of audio–visual effects as its purpose.At last,thewriter points out that the authentic and shocking spectacle meets audiences’ three aspects ofphysical and psychological desires: the first one is the purely sensory stimulation andalternatively content for physical pleasure, the second one is aesthetic stimulation and aestheticpleasure of emotional satisfaction, and the third one is the deep rational thinking and humanisticconcern.Fourthly, the move star is the Oscar films’ everlasting charm.In Oscar image, movie star hasgreat appeal to the audience. The mainly reason is that compared with the ordinary filmactors,the movie star has a unique charm, and the charm includes physical charm as well as thecharm of personality and temperament. The movie star appeared in the film attracts the audience’s eyes in its own charm and become the main object of the audience’s identificationand empathy. To arouse the audience’s free emotion and gather their attention maximally, Oscarfilms usually choose the star with the temperament conformed to the character, to express carefor the human nature, and to show people the real human nature.To sum up, the unique aesthetics of the Oscar image is that it always take the audience as thecore, firmly grasps the audience’s aesthetic mentality,aesthetic habits and desires, and flexiblyuse all the film art and technology to appeal the audience’s attention and stimulate their emotionsmaximally, rather than bases on the artists’ aesthetic judgment and artistic taste of themselves orplays with the obscure form language. This is where the Oscar image is different from otherfilms, and it’s also the reason why it can be attractive to the world audience for a long time.
