Teacher Talk is the direct and main means for a teacher to implement the teaching in theclass,while questioning is an important component in Teacher Talk in the class.And as anindispensible part of classroom teaching,classroom questioning is essential means of classroomintercommunication and an important method for training students’ language skills.The aim ofTeaching Chinese as a Second Language is to develop the ability of using Chinese for foreignstudents.This principle decides that teachers’ questioning and students’answering is the mostinteractive activity and teachers’ questioning plays a very important role in Teaching Chinese asa Second Language.The thesis deals with teachers’questioning on the elementary level ofTeaching Chinese as a Second Language according to it’s own characteristics of the subject andthe actual classroom activities.Bases upon the records or videos of six teachers’class and thecomprehensive analysis of the words dictated from the listening materials,this essay analyzes thequestioning of the class from the following six aspects:the amount of questioning,the types ofquestions,the questions forms,the repeat of questioning,the distribution of questions,the teachers’feedback.At last,the paper gives some teaching suggestions based on the results above.
