The relationship between the media and literature suffered from alienation to close. In the era of mass media, the literature has even been controlled by the mass media. In modern society, the media technology changes continuously. The emergence of digital media has a revolutionary impact on the mode of transmission. The digital media has the ability to integrate all other forms of media by its unique characteristic and form the Media Convergence which is recognized by the communication study circle. Print media, TV, Movies and other electronic media, network media are also no longer apparently different, they appears various degrees of convergence. Mainly manifested in three areas such as content, network and terminals, the media convergence should be dominated by digital media. Dramatic changes as the media facing, it could fundamentally set the literature on a new and vital path.The literature acceptance has always been one of the significant parts of the literature activity. It is called "reader", and it is placed on the important position of the literary theoretical system by both Abrams and Ruoyu Liu. Meanwhile, what might be acknowledged is that the "reader" is the center of literature acceptance activity which is pushed by the aesthetics of reception. It is in the era of media convergence that the "audience" get the equal status with the author, including equal dialogue and participate in writing by themselves promptly. That did help take much note of literature acceptance essentiality. Thus it can be seen that, building on the media convergence context, the literature production examined by literature acceptance is valuable.What fate the literature would face? Since the emergence of electronic media, the statement about "death" of literature has been prevalently. Through a deep analysis of literature acceptance in the context of the media convergence, this thesis is intending primarily to explore crisis and way of the literature development.This thesis mainly includes four parts, in the first part, I will define the connotations of some basic concepts such as media convergence, sort out the history of media development, and point out the inevitable trend that the media convergence which led by digital medium will promote the growth of media. This part is the logic starting point and cornerstone of the whole thesis. In the second part, I will make a macroscopic description about the relationship between different medium and literature, furthermore, I will summarize the impact that media brings to the literature acceptance. Since media convergence is the mutual penetration and integration among a variety of media, the second part becomes the foundation of the next part. In the third part, I will try to thoroughly analyse the specific performance of media convergence---content convergence, internet convergence and terminal convergence. These above convergences have a great influence on the communication of literature and impact more on the acceptance of literature. However, literature is facing an even greater crisis in the era of media convergence, but in this crisis, it also breeds vitality and provide a new road. So in the last part, I will focus on the situation of literature in the context of media convergence through the view of literature acceptance, as a result, I reckon that literature is facing some crisis especially on readers’aesthetic turning and the disappearing of readers’subjectivity, and the best way to reconstruct literature is re-shape readers’subjectivity. Ultimately, I point out that literature will not become extinct, on the contrary, it will revive in the process of transformation.
