On Translation Strategies Of Political Texts Based On Functional Equivalence

This translation project is made up of two parts. In the first part, the first20chapters of Outline of the National Medium-and Long-Term Program for Education Reform and Development are translated from Chinese into English. In the second part, a translation review report is written based on the translation practice.In the early1960s, Nida put forward the functional equivalence theory under the principle of equivalent translation. This theory opens up a new perspective to translation studies, bringing important guidance for later translation practice. There has been large amount of studies about the functional equivalence theory and translation strategies for political texts, but studies combining the two are scanty.
