According to the map about Chinese Languages distribution, the dialect in Guaili Village in Shexian County of Handan City belongs to Hanxin dialect area of Shanxi language. As Shexian County is located at the border Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces, it is regarded as transition area of Hebei-Shandong mandarin, China’s Central Plain mandarin and has a great value of research. So far, there is no official or systematic research over the dialect. This article chooses Guaili village as the case of study.The text is divided into five parts:the introduction includes two sections. The first section introduces geographic location and historical evolution of the village, while section Ⅱ summarizes the previous studies and the value of the writing of this article.In Chapter One, the article describe the Guaili dialect phonetic system including consonants, vowels, intonation, tone variation, rhymes, special pronunciation and other issues. It also gives a table for the pronunciation of common used dialects.In Chapter Two and Three, the writer compares Guaili dialect with Guang rhyme and other dialects in Hebei Province, to reflect the feature of Guaili dialect.Through the study, we can draw the following conclusions:Guaili dialects has22initials,50finals, five tunes and28retroflex vowels. The dialect has complicated tune changes than mandarin and had some special tunes of word.Secondly, in Guali dialect, most f the consonants had been developed into retroflex consonants ts tsh s. The putonghua syllable’er’was read into syllables "1." The zero vowel in mandarin is read η consonant in the dialect. The consonants were merged into12vowels with? glottal endings.Compare with other Shanxi dialects in Hebei Province, Guaili dialects has some special features.For example, most words in Guaili languages are pronounced with zero consonants and "1" sound.This evolution is quite different from other Shanxi dialects in Hebei Province. In vowels, Guaili dialect has more than50vowels, the most in amounts in Shanxi dialect.
