The Study Of Pseudotranslation In Late Qing

In the translation history of China, there was a special" translation "almost behind every translation climax--Pseudotranslation, the pseudotranslations were those literature which was not translation but treated as translation. They were put on a foreign mask in order to achieve some certain purposes. In essence, they were creations. As was in the disputed area of translation and creation, both translation researchers and local literature researchers had not put pseudotranslations into their study, so though the pseudotranslation was not rare but it was ignored. But we can’t look down on the value of study of pseudotranslations, because they were restricted by personal, social and cultural factors and can help us to better understand the history of translation by study on pseudotranslations.it was a witness of literary world. The pseudotranslations in Late Qing were born in the climax of fictions and translations, they were a typical representative of Chinese pseudotranslations, not only in the quantity but also in the variety, and they were a witness of that stage. The pseudotranslations in Late Qing were created by Chinese but spread as translation they also affected their times to some extent. So study on pseudotranslation in Late Qing can help us learn more about the whole phenomenon of pseudotranslation.In my view, there were three types in the pseudotranslations in Late Qing-creating in foreign else’s name, making use of foreign materials, defamiliarization of text This study was based on some theories and examples of pseudotranslation, then this paper was written from the three aspects. The paper includes four chapters, the first chapter is the introductory chapter, which briefs the theories and the phenomenon of pseudotranslation in Late Qing. The second chapter is the introduce and analysis for those local fictions which in a foreign name. The third chapter is some research about those fictions which make use of foreign materials, and the last chapter is about which texts defamiliarized.
