The Study On The Variant-Forms Of Chinese Characters In The Bamboo Slips Of Han Dynasty Unearthed

From the20th century, lots of bamboo Slips of Han dynasty were unearthed, adding up to13kinds of materials. These were called "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty" together. Because of the advantage of be ture to the original, it can reflect the basic features of Chinese characters used in the Han Dynasty. So, studying the variant-forms of Chinese characters in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty "is incomparable.We colltect the variant-forms of Chinese characters entirely in the thesis of the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty". According to the differences between the variant-forms of Chinese characters and standardized form of Chinese characters, we conclude and classify them. In every kind, we give some examples in order to descripe detailedly. On this basis, we elaborate the evolution clue of the variant-forms of Chinese characters. At the same time, on the basis of the descriped variant-forms above, we study on the following four aspects emphatically:Firstly, Classification Analysis of the variant-forms of Chinese characters in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty".Using the "Shuo Wen Jie Zi" seal scripts and glyphs commonly used in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty" as a traditional Chinese glyph, we comgpare them with the variant-forms in order to classify them. According to the studying, they were divided into eight categories:changing phonetic element, changing ideography, changing all the parts, changing formation of chinese character, changing the structure, sampling parts, adding parts, graphological deviation.Secondly, specific features of the variant-forms of Chinese characters in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty".On the basis of description above, we sum up the four characteristics: simplicity;distinctiveness; randomicity; epochal character.Thirdly,the evolution rules of the variant-forms of Chinese characters in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty". On the basis of description and studying above, in this chapter, standing on the diachronic point of view, we sum up three evolution trends of parts of the variant-forms of Chinese characters in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty". Such as, assimilation; dissimilation; confusion. Under the heads of the three trends, we sum up eighteen kinds of evolution rules.Fourthly, the significance of the variant-forms of Chinese characters in the "Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty".Through to the study of two dimensions above, we draw up the significance at last. There are four aspects:It is helpful to document collating. It is helpful to examinating the literal meaning. It is helpful to compilation of dictionaries. It is helpful to the modern reform of Chinese characters.
