In English teaching and learning, the textbook plays vital role in the teaching orders, teaching qualities, teaching content and teaching direction. And which is regarded as an essential factor contributing to the accomplishment of teaching content and the achievement of teaching objectives.With the reform of college English teaching, a lot of different textbook are compiled and published in the market which are claimed to be in line with the College English Curriculum Requirements (CECR). As one of them, College Experiencing English (CEE) is a new set of textbook widely used in university.Based on the College English Curriculum Requirements and the evaluation criteria, this research through dynamic analyses tries to analyze and evaluate College Experiencing English on its organization, language content, skills, teaching methodology and teachers’book. The evaluation was mainly divided into two steps: interview and questionnaire. Besides, the paper aims to find out how well CEE matches with College English Curriculum Requirements, whether learners’abilities of practical language use have been improved through studying the materials of the textbook.The College Experiencing English is based on the cognitive linguistics and sociolinguistics, emphasizing experience, application and practice in language learning (Hu,2003). According to the survey, the CEE is generally consistent with the CECR. In terms of teaching methods, it compromises the modern methods with the traditional ones, especially focuses on individualized instruction and autonomous learning. In form-designing, it values the effectiveness of stereo and illustration. In material selection and arrangement, it also has its initiative features but the listening materials need to reduce the difficulty level. But in terms of organization, there are some defects in reappearance of new words, for the ratio of it exceeded in the textbook. And the textbook hasn’t provided enough grammar items for students to review, thus there should be some notes after passages in case of difficult sentences. The methodology designed in CEE is the leading notion in modern language teaching embodying communicative teaching method, individualized instruction and autonomous learning; and the multi-media tools are expected to be fully used in accordance with the methodology designed in CEE. In teacher’s book, there are some places that need to provide guidance for the instruction and it should be more wide-ranging by offering additionally teaching aims and objectives, teaching plan guidance.
