Piano Art has three hundred years of history, people study the piano teaching experience nearly three centuries. In the second half of the nineteenth century, psychology’s theory gradually being applied to music research. At present, the study of piano art is more and more combined with the psychological study.The main purpose of this paper is that from a psychological point of view, analysis of children’s psychological characteristics and rules which in the process of learning and playing the piano, there are targeted for students to study the process of learning the piano. Practice as a basic process of acquiring the skills of piano, its quality will largely determine the success of learning the piano. In this study, the basic theory of cognitive psychology, based on quantitative research (questionnaire method) and qualitative research (interviews) a combination of research methods. The memory, imagination and hearing and so on that students practice piano were investigated, the results of the questionnaire and interviews were detailed in-depth analysis and summary to find out which laws. It aims to provide psychological theory’s basis for Piano Teaching and through analysis found that match the law of the psychological development of Piano teaching methods of science.
