The Study On The Political Socialization For The Coal Miners In Shanxi Province

The coal miners, as the constituent part of the industrial workers,have witnessed the development of Chinese industry. In ShanxiProvince, the coal miners have a large proportion in working class.The specific characteristic of the working and living environment ofthem decides the unique of their political socialization. Making studyon coal miners’political socialization not only can provide thereferable case for the political socialization theory, but has practicalsignificance to publicize the policies of the Party, promote the coalminers to increase the political knowledge, master and use thepolitical skills, advance the sustainable development of the coalindustry, political stability and development. Although the literatureson the political socialization published in China have achieved someresults, the study on the political socialization of coal miners as thespecial group is few, which was only referred among the medical, literature, psychology, sociology and other fields at the aspect of thesurvival condition and psychological states rather than theperspective of political socialization.Basing on the theory of political science and the discussion of thecontent, function and target for the political socialization of the coalminers in Shanxi Province and combining with the sociology theory,my paper aims to conduct the survey in 10 coal mines at Shuozhou,Xinzhou and Linfen in Shanxi Province to survey the basic livecondition, political cognition, attitude and political participationcondition of Shanxi coal miners and political socialization conditionthrough the family, school, enterprise, mass media and other ways.Give a detailed analysis from the aspects of political, economic,cultural, enterprise, geography, mass media and miner’s own quality.Think about coal miners’political socialization in a synthetical way:firstly, enhance the political construction and smooth channels ofcoal miners’political socialization; secondly, promote theconstruction of Shanxi coal mines enterprises, and concern andguarantee the lives of miners; thirdly, enhance the enterprise cultureconstruction and build the culture atmosphere of the politicalsocialization for coal miners; finally, make effective use of massmedia, and give full play of its political socialization function,ultimately promote the development of the political socialization of Shanxi coal miners.
