Production scheduling problem has been a very important part of the manufacturing system and it is also one of the hot issues on which the modern scholars research. Crown block scheduling is particularly important for the surface treatment industry of aluminum material and its strategy is directly related to the production cost, production efficiency and core competitiveness of enterprise. This paper takes the automated electrophoresis production line shop scheduling problem of the Guangdong XingFa Aluminum Co. Ltd.(Jiangxi) as the researching object, and with the goal to minimize the makespan and minimize the time variance of overhead traveling crane transportation, the paper uses a genetic algorithm to optimize the overhead traveling crane scheduling.The paper first briefly introduces the importance of optimizing shop scheduling for automated electrophoresis line and discusses the existed research results and methods of the shop scheduling problem at home and abroad. After establishing the mathematical modeling of electrophoresis line, the status of the Flow Shop Scheduling Model is described in detail and the actual scheduling of electrophoresis line is attributed to the type of Hybrid Flow Shop Scheduling. The paper puts forward the idea of partition scheduling and based on the priority scheduling thinking of combination rule, combined with genetic algorithm, a complete set of scheduling theory is formed. The paper focuses on the genetic algorithm, and on this basis, the two-track vehicle scheduling of the A, B line critical area and the overhead traveling crane scheduling of the entire production line are optimized. Finally, Lab Windows/CVI software is used for simulation and during the simulation process, all kinds of differences between the theory and reality are taken into full account. The simulation results show that the hybrid genetic algorithm achieves the best performance, while the other algorithms can be closer to its scheduling effect.Part of the scheduling idea in the paper has been applied into the control section of electrophoresis line in Guangdong XingFa Aluminum Co. Ltd.(Jiangxi), so the paper gives some guiding significance for the actual production.
