In order to make the tailings management more scientific and response tothe requirements of the state administration of safety supervision andmanagement, more and more tailings enterprises choose the digital tailingssafety monitoring system. In this paper, the design of Jinyin tailings pond safetymonitoring system is to achieve a comprehensive monitoring of the tailingspond, and display monitoring data in real time. According to the actual operationof the tailings, monitoring system could realize multi-level network of earlywarning and alarm functions and evaluate synthetically tail mine’s securitysituation.This paper first introduces the background and significance of monitoringof tailings, and makes in-depth analysis and comparison tailings monitoringtechnology at home and abroad. Secondly, This article composes mainly fromthe monitoring system of requirement analysis, revolves the real-time onlinemonitoring and safety evaluation of these two objectives, makes detailed studyand analysis Jinyin tailings safety monitoring system needs, recommends thefunctional requirements of the system and designs the database the conceptualdata model. Thirdly, in order to make the overall system processing businessstronger in the system design using the distributed management and multi-layerarchitecture of functional modules, that way could achieve flexible and efficientinteraction between different levels of data, gives full play to B/S modearchitectural advantages. The management system is composed by systemmanagement, real-time monitoring, data analysis, safety evaluation and dataexport five functional modules. Real-time monitoring is the key modules of thesystem, not only to monitor the pond deformation, rainfall, reservoir level, drybeach and saturation line, real-time video surveillance for Workers’ Activities ofthe production sites in the reservoir area. Finally, monitoring system hasachieved the ultimate design goals, which are Jinyin tailings real-time on-linemonitoring and safety evaluation, and has been delivered. After a period of actual operation results show that Jinyin tailings pond safety monitoring systemis stable, accurate monitoring data, early warning of potentially dangerous, andhas achieved positive results for the safe operation of the tailings management.
