The telescopic boom is an important part of the truck crane,it is also the main force member. In the working process, the telescopic boom is affected by a variety of external loads. The structural performance of the telescopic boom not only affects the safety and reliability of the work, but also determines the performance and bearing capacity of the whole machine. Therefore,it is of great significance to carry out optimization design and structural analysis. In this paper, the telescopic boom of TC75 truck crane is used as the research object, and the finite element analysis software ANSYS as a tool.Firstly, the specific structure of the telescopic boom was analyzed, and based on the three-dimensional model of the telescopic boom, the ANSYS Parametric Design Language was used to establish the parametric model of the telescopic boom. The finite element statics analysis is carried out for the dangerous working conditions of the telescopic arm,and the overall displacement and stress distribution are obtained. Then, stress test is carried out on the dangerous conditions, and the test results and analysis results are compared to verify the correctness of the finite element model.Subsequently, the structure of dangerous locations has been improved, the gradient optimization method is used in the ANSYS optimization module, the cross-sectional dimension is taken as the design variable, the stress and displacement as the state variables, and the overall quality as the objective function.Under the premise of satisfying the usage requirements, the cross-section of the telescopic boom was optimized, the optimized telescopic boom reduced the weight by 9.6%.Finally,the finite element static analysis was carried out for the four working conditions of the optimized model, and the stress status, stress distribution, and displacement of the dangerous position before optimization were compared, the strength and stiffness of the other three optimized working conditions were checked. The modal analysis was performed for each working condition to obtain its vibration parameters, which provided a basis for avoiding resonance at work;a buckling analysis was performed to determine the critical destabilizing load under each working condition, and it was proved that the telescopic boom would not be unstable under normal working conditions. This paper provides theoretical guidance for the optimization of the TC75 truck crane, and also provides reference and solutions for the practical problems of similar projects.
