In recent years, along with the development of our economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, the number and variety of home appliances is more and more, especially the use of high power appliances, such as the air condition and refrigerator, this put forward a higher demand to the quality of the grid in China, and the past mostly rely on the way of reactive power compensation with the power generation can’t meet the needs of the actual conditions, therefore, we design the low voltage reactive power compensation scheme.Reactive power compensation in power system has important significance. the appropriate reactive power compensation of power system, not only can keep power voltage stable, but also can improve the power factor and the equipment utilization, and reduce the loss of power. It improve the ability of the transmission, balance of three phase power, provide the voltage support, for the system and improve the system operation safety and reliability.The main research contents are as follows:we have studyed and compared various kinds of reactive power testing calculation ways, and choosed the most suitable test method. For the characteristics and cost requirements in low voltage power, we established the control strategy using TSC priority and TCR auxiliary. Through the high-speed chips DSP TMS320F2812for more variable calculation, and send a control signal to FPGA to drive the TSC opening and cutting capacitor and TCR continuously adjusting the thyristor phase Angle, so that they can fast tracking compensation reactive power, and won’t produce switching interference.This controller have the advantage than the past equipment,which have characteristics of the TCR has the function of switching, and avoid the TCR thyristor long-term parallel in the circuit caused by the interference and produce a lot of heat. This equipment use the capacitor compound switch, which research and development design independently. This can be very good for improving control accuracy and extend the cut thyristor using life.
