Variable frequency power supply is a AC-AC electronics power equipment which is realized by switching power frequency electric in the ways of AC-DC and DC-AC. The amplitude and frequency of output voltage from this equipment has the merit that can be adjusted within a certain range, which can satisfy the users’needs of all kinds of source in a large extent. The core technology of variable frequency power supply is DC-AC control system. The traditional DC-AC control system usually works out all kinds of logical and arithmetic by the controlled chips such as MCU and DSP which execute instruction in serial. Actually has poor real-time.Based on the speed advantage of concurrent execution, this subject takes advantage of FPGA from Xilinx company and make the DC-AC control system of variable frequency power supply come true. The main content of this subject is as follows:first, the DC-AC theory in variable frequency power supply based on SPWM, including how to produce SPWM, and how it can be controlled. Second, combined software flow chart with state transition diagram, the subject shows us the digital controlled system of variable frequency power supply. At last, setting up a hardware platform for variable frequency power supply, and also testing the parameter of variable frequency power supply.The logics of variable frequency power supply in this subject designs is realized by Verilog HDL synthesizing the resource of logical gate, LUT, IP core, storage and DCM together. The whole controlled system are divided into some modules such as frequency adjustment module, DDS module, triangular carrier module, SPWM module, amplitude adjustment module, LCD display module and etc. And then carried out the RTL design to every module in ISE development circumstances, also makes simulation to these modules using the Modelsim.The hardware platform of this subject consists of two parts:DC power supply circuit and inverter main circuit. The DC power supply circuit comes from a single-ended flyback switching power supply. And inverter main circuit is made up of the following parts:driven circuit, three half-bridge inverter circuit, filter circuit and etc.Finally by integrating the software and hardware of variable frequency power supply, the subject tests amplitude, frequency of the output voltage from this prototype which is nearly the same with imagination. The prototype fulfill the fundamental functions of variable frequency power supply, and achieve the expected aims.
