Geographic Information System is one of the hotspots on informationtechnology in recent years. In different application fields, GIS is expandingand extending constantly with its own constant development and improvement.The requirements for GIS are different in different application fields. It willbring considerable economic and social benefits for the corporation necessarilyto structure, design, and complete a practical GIS. This paper, which is basedon the application fields of power industry, structures and designs the assistantdecision system of GIS with the GIS technology, realizes the3D visualizationof wire network, and explores the application in power emergencies.This article is from the actual3D GIS project, the rendering of3D powerequipment model provides basic data support for application fields, such asauxiliary program, design, and emergency. First of all, this paper introducesthe origin and development of GIS, and related work at home and abroad. Andthen it studies the3D modeling method of power equipment, as well as modelreading and rendering, which is based on the research results of3Dvisualization. According to the existing LOD algorithm, the article gives a newLOD algorithm which is more suitable for the3D GIS in the power grid,which can greatly improve the rendering speed, efficiency and the operatingefficiency of the system. In addition, according to the theory of decisionsupport system, it explores the application in power emergency events,implements a kind of solution for power emergency. Finally, according to theabove research results, it designs and completes the application platform of3Ddigital and integrated in the power grid of500kV in the Henan.The platform can provide the geographical information of transmissionline, as well as model equipment information and other information of variousprofessional attributes, more intuitive, real for the management departments,such as planning, design, and emergency department. The operation andmaintenance of resources and the management of information and systematic,not only can reduce the management cost, improve work efficiency, but also provide the basic for macro decision-making. Realizing the3D visualization ofthe power GIS is of important significance for the operation management andauxiliary decision in power grid.
