Large big and complex bridges are always the key projects in the newly built freeway and high-speed railway in China.these projects involve a large number of engineering technology,economics and management problems.it should be rely on information management in the process of construction to improve the efficiency and quality of project management.In this paper, a3D visualization system of bridge construction management is built, which realized information,digital and network management.The system was developed based on the theories of modern information,network,4D management and the methods of visualization,centralized control,highly sharing, the main points of the paper are as following:(1)Building4D model of bridge construction management. Computer graphic interface technique such as Alternativa3D and3dsMax were used to build3D model of the project-based bridge. Construction information of each bridge structural component is displayed accordingly by adding click response function to its3D model.(2)Simulation of bridge construction progress and cost optimization. Construction progress was simulated using Monte Carlo method and PERT/CPM theory. Furthermore, on the condition that construction period is constant, equilibrium optimization of cost (labor) was implemented using genetic algorithm. Finally, cost management based on activity-based costing was presented.(3)Determining the key technique of system development. Some related technique and software such as rich internet application (RIA), Flex, J2EE architecture, MyEclipse integrated development environment, SQL Server database and Hibernate mapping library were elaborated, especially their roles and principles in development of the system.(4)Development of3D visualization system of bridge construction management based on4D theory. In this paper, a bridge construction information management system, which is based on the Liuchonghe River bridge construction project, was developed using Flex+J2EE multi-layer network application development technique. The system makes the construction management of Liuchonghe River bridge project informatized, networking, digitalized and visualized.
