A great many of large and complex bridges were built with the more and more freeway and high-speed railway construction in China. Compare with the general engineering construction management, the bridge construction management, especially the large and complex bridge, contain more complex technology of engineering, economics and management. It is a technology-intesive system engineering which should rely on an interrgration of information technology, network technology and morden engerineering management science to process and store large amounts of construction information in time and, further, to realize modern management of bridge construction.Consider the mentioned above, a 4D dynamic simulation model was established and introduced into bridge construction process to realize the bridge construction management information and visualization. The main points of the paper are as following:(1)Building a 4D model of bridge construction management. The modern construction management 4D theory was originally introduced to the railway bridge construction management, which dynamic simulated the bridge construction management process based on the three-dimensional bridge model and the time factor of bridge construction progress schedule.Furthermore, other information, such as construction quality, material and so on, as additional attribute factors were took into account in the model.(2) Research on the bridge construction scheduling simulation and resource optimization.Base on Monte Carlo simulation method and intelligent optimization algorithms,such as gentic algorithm and ant colony optimization, the resource-constrained project scheduling and resource leveling problem under uncertainty in bridge construction were analyzed and settled.(3)Building a bridge construction management information database base on units,distribution and subentry engineering and the 4D model. Furthermore, the paper realized the data persistence through the Hibernate technology which is an object/relation model framework. (4) Designed and developed Yellow River bridge construction simulation information system using the Flex+J2EE multi-layer network application development technology and the 4D model.The paper realized construction process dynamic simulation and management of informatization and visualization.The application of the bridge construction management information system in Yellow River Bridge verified the feasibility and practicality of the 4D dynamic simulation model in bridge construction management.
