High-speed railway in China is currently in the stage of strong construction and rapid development, pantograph-catenary system is the key vinculum between connected traction power supply system and electric power locomotive engine, which directly affects the improvement of high-speed train’s speed and operational quality. This paper has done the following research work:In-depth analyzing the dynamic characteristics of the catenary system during the high-speed obtaining of current, suitable hang style and compensation mode are chosen to build the dynamic stiffness model and variable mass model of the catenary, it releases the pantogragh-catenary static contact resistance and separation resistance, then defines pantogragh-catenary-impact dynamic impedance which is considered a generalized impedance.The data are imported by the MATLAB/GUI and SQL Server software, which efficiently accelerate the processing rate. the theory of electrical contact is introduced to the research of the cunrrent dynamicly, and the model of pantogragh-catenary-impact dynamic impedance is derived.Taking high-speed rail as a prototype, based on mathematical models having been derived, it builds simulation models by the MATLAB/Simulink software and does some offline simulation analysis. It simulates the pantogragh-catenary contact pressure, contact wire stiffness and pantogragh-catenary impedance during different Matching mode and speed. The result of the simulation indicate that variable mass model of the catenary can reflect the change of the contact force, which gear to actual circumstances; Under different matching of pantograph and catenary condition, coupling waveform will be disparity. The value of pantogragh-catenary impedance is influenced by contact force and the number of electrical contact point.
