In the past few years,people’s living environment quality requirements changed greatly with the development of social economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, Garden residential district and ecological residential district as a pleasant environment quality residential district become people’s living environment for the pursuit of the objective.Based on the study of the ecology, landscape ecology branch of the development history, leading thought schools and actual engineering practice, on the basis of the existing five ecological landscape dominant genre:clean energy development and utilization of genre, and low carbon design schools, waste and recycling genre and human resources purification designing schools and ecological restoration of schools of thought and their main engineering case after analyzing the advantages and disadvantages, to the authors as the main engineering construction personnel in the Kunming for engineering examples, the world expo an eco-city, the ecological theory in modern garden residential district of the application of the construction project, and sums up the other made some successful experiences.Expo in Kunming for engineering an eco-city design and construction of primary landscape, and the original topography make the greatest protection and utilization, and will ecological water system, road system, green space system and retaining wall system applied to landscape construction, in order to create livable, ecological living environment. Project completion three years later, in the community of landscape effect and ecological benefits made a follow-up investigation of the system of the pros and cons of the practice of the evaluation.
