Truck cranes are widely used in various fields of the national economy andhave very broad application prospects in China. Due to the nuclear power, windpower and other large-scale projects will be constructed, the demand for truckcranes has been increased and crane safety issues have also been got a highattention. Though large lifting equipments have been produced by domesticmanufacturers, equipment reliability study is relatively backward. In this paper,on the basis of current study on lifting equipment safety and reliability, theMonte-Carlo finite element method is put forward to calculate the reliability ofthe truck crane telescopic structure.(1)Truck crane technology has been developed rapidly and differentsection types, new materials, new technology have been used on them.Compared to the traditional cross-section and structure, its mechanicalproperties have been greatly improved, such as the oval-shaped cross-section ofthe telescopic boom and the U-shaped cross-section of the telescopic boom. TheU-shaped telescopic structure of a50t truck crane is taken as an example tocarry out traditional mechanical calculations, parametric modeling and finiteelement analysis. The stress distribution and the weak parts have been got. Theimprovement measures have been put forward.(2)The telescopic boom of truck crane has bearing and luffing functions.It not only requires higher carrying capacity, but also requires higher reliabilityin the various working conditions. For scientific evaluating the reliability of thetelescopic boom structure, the stochastic finite element method is used tocalculate the structure performance function probability. APDL is used to modelthe telescopic boom and PDS is used to calculate the reliability. The calculationand analysis of telescopic boom structure reliability have been decided by themonte-carlo finite element method.(3)Taking50t truck crane telescopic structure as an engineering practicalexample, the feasibility and practicability of the method have been verified.
