Because of the rapid development of computer technology, the engineering of manufacturing industry has brought new opportunities, in which the finite element method has also been rapid development, now the engineering manufacturing industry more and more widely used in modern design and manufacturing technology. We can use the finite element analysis technology easily to achieve the structural static, modal simulation and buckling simulation and so on, we can’t achieve this before the birth of the finite element analysis technology.As an important branch of engineering machinery, automobile crane manufacturing has been the integration of existing resources, innovative design, using the latest technology, using it to improve the production capacity of enterprises, in order to increase the market competitiveness, and ultimately improve the occupation rate of market effect.The telescopic boom of truck crane as the main stress components of truck crane, structure and properties of its quality not only affects the automobile crane operation safety and reliability, but also determines the economic performance of truck crane, simple to say, it can be reached in the safe use of the premise, the telescopic boom is of course to design more light more better, because we can save raw materials, reduce procurement costs, but also improve the mechanical properties of the light weight, has multiple purposes. But, must be in the premise of meeting safety, we must avoid because of the telescopic boom of truck crane wall thickness is too thin to the occurrence of loss of stability.Analyzing the structure of this paper mainly uses the ANSYS finite element method telescopic boom of truck crane 55 tons, comparative analysis of stress under the same conditions of U shaped and elliptical cross section. By using the ANSYS finite element analysis software, telescopic boom parametric modeling, static analysis and buckling simulation of telescopic boom of oval cross section and U section, and the comparative analysis of the results, so as to select the section for the two types of cross section. Section is selected, on the basis of the design and calculation of truck crane 5 booms.
