Construction vehicles are generally working on poor working conditions. They willproduce strong vibrations during working. Impacts on the performance of the vehicles and thedriver’s health will be generated when these vibrations acting on the machine and drivers. Inorder to improve the damping performance of construction vehicles, this paper takes a320hpcrawler bulldozer for example to propose a new type of cab damping structure. The dampingstructure use the coil springs shock absorbers suspension as a reduction of the cab vibrationsystem. The suspension connects the cab and ROPS. First, the safety of crawler bulldozer’sROPS structure has been analyzed with the standard by using the finite element method. Andthe analysis of the ROPS structure’s carrying capacity meeting the safety requirements provedthe feasibility of the damping structure. Then a mathematical model of the new dampingstructure is established, simulation experiments are carried out with the Simulink environmentin bulldozing, loosening, no-load conditions. The simulation experiments results show that thenew damping structure have better vibration damping effect than the original rubber dampingstructure. Finally, the parameters of suspension are optimized by using DOE orthogonal test.And an evaluation method is created. A set of optimization parameters are selected from theexperiments results by using the evaluation method. All the studies above Theabove-mentioned studies propose a new type of cab damping structure witch can improve thecab’s damping performance of construction vehicles structure, and have reference value andpractical significance.
