Understanding Of Craftsmen Temperament In Modern Product Design

With the globalization of the world, the cultures of the countries in the world intersect, collide and fuse, making the contemporary product design present a colorful prosperity. In this environment, through years of absorption and digestion of Western design and its design philosophy and methods, the current product design development in China has ushered in a new historical period of development, with its cognition of modern design continuously strengthened, but in China there are also a lot of problems such as the assimilation of product modality, and insufficient grasp of details, etc., seriously restricting the development of China’s contemporary product design.This thesis innovatively takes a new look at the current development of the product design from the perspective of artisan temperament which emerged and evolved from the heritage of Chinese traditional creation, and relies on artisan temperament, the quintessence of traditional culture, to distinguish the past research methods of traditional creation, and inspect the current problems existing in the product design development with a new perspective. Continuing with the past and opening up the future, the author expects to dig through the study on craftsmen temperament some special values and significance which have been buried or ignored in contemporary society, and the study on artisan temperament is just about to extract them from the deep well of history.In this paper, the first part systematically elaborates the artisan temperament from several aspects, namely its concept, source, content and features. The second part makes the analysis of the development situation of contemporary product design, and explores the practical significance of the introduction of artisan temperament for the promotion of the development of product design. From the two aspects of the formation of the artisan temperament education mode and the artisan labor itself the third part scans the current problems existing in the product design development from the perspective of artisan temperament, and combines with the content relevant to artisan temperament, trying to explore the values and significance of artisan temperament, and at the same time, to discuss the possible critical and normative meaning of the significance and values for the development of contemporary" product design.
