The automatic ramming organ system is necessary to the heavy caliber gun. The reliability of the automatic ramming organ system has a direct influence to if the system can complete the mission and the gun’s erupt firing rate and continuous firing rate. Actually, the reliability of the heavy caliber gun’s automatic ramming organ system is low, and it breakdown frequently. So this paper did a failure mode analysis for the system to achieve the major failure mode, based on the major failure mode, considered the main factors which have a influence to the system’s reliability. After this, selected the driving wheel as a typical member, calculated its actuation reliability.In order to achieve the reliability block diagram, the second chapter analysed the reliability of the system accord to the problem happened and the reliability theory. Based on the given failure rate of the automatic ramming organ system, distributed the reliability to the subsystem, so determined the allowable failure rate of every subsystem. After the failure mode and effects analysis, the major failure mode and the effects to the system are known.Build a gun’s automatic ramming organ model in Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical System(ADAMS) and the control model in SIMULINK and different parameters are set in the model. By means of Co-simulation in ADAMS and SIMULINK, achieved the influence results of every difference parameter to the automatic ramming organ system. The main factors were found by comparing the results from the simulation.At last, selected the driving wheel as a typical member, considered the influence of the machining error, calculated its actuation reliability. The research in this paper may have some reference value to improve the automatic ramming organ system reliability.
