With the rapid development of fieldbus and local area network technology, the control and monitoring system of metro train became more and more complex, which requires higher metro reliability, safety and comfort. To keep the running safe of the train, the metro running state information should be collected, stored, and the fault should be judged correctly. Therefore, the safe and stable train communication network is required. Communication network was applied in monitoring, control and management of braking, traction, auxiliary vehicle equipment, so real-time train running state can be achieved comprehensively.At this stage, the main network of train communication system are TCN, CAN, WorldFIP, ModBus at home and abroad, but the existing train network communication rate is relatively low, which can not be able to meet the requirements of the large capacity and high real-time quality during the data transmission. Therefore, in order to meet the demands mention above, a new train sensor network framework was built in this paper. Compared with the traditional communication technology, the new communication network can meet the requirements of the large capacity data transmission, and meanwhile, the transmission rate can be greatly improved.This paper began with the introduction of the present stage of train communication network and research status of sensor network, as well as the comparision of the train communication bus mainstreams at home and abroad. Then the Ethernet-based network architecture was studied deeply, and a new set of train safety monitoring sensor network communication laboratory platform, which consists of standard and evaluation network, was established. The vehicle safety monitoring sensor network structure and the function of each part was introduced detailed. Meanwhile, this paper showed the build process of the sensor network platforms in laboratory. The platform conducted carriage simulation, go-line simulation and equipment simulation in view of spot environment; completed the connection of the cabinet wiring and equipment by advanced hardware equipment and realized the platform construction of software and hardware structures and clear network communication.
